It’s not every day that you find a continuing care community that places such an emphasis on wellness. But at Carroll Lutheran Village, it’s the foundation of our program. Wellness addresses the total well-being of residents, physically, socially, emotionally, vocationally, educationally, intellectually, and spiritually. Being a faith-based community, we highlight the spiritual dimension in the variety of religious services offered on campus. The Village provides Lutheran-based ecumenical services, as well as Roman Catholic Mass and Jewish services which are held on campus.
We have also initiated creative programs that seek to engage the whole community at every level of care. Project Venture is one such example. It explores topics such as genealogy, nature, and history. By utilizing crafts, journaling, oral history, music programs and other avenues of expression, each level of care can make contributions.
Depending on the subject, one or more aspects of wellness are explored. Other means of achieving wellness include our nutrition programs designed to improve residents’ overall health and mental outlook. We pay attention to the physical dimension of wellness as well. Our fully equipped Wellness Center offers an indoor pool, gym, leisure arts rooms and classrooms, and more, all designed to maintain strong mental and physical health. The goal, of course, is to help residents live healthier, happier lives. Our wellness programs go a long way toward achieving that goal.
